One of my winter projects is to replace (or repair) the starboard storage cabinet liner under the helm seat in my 2680 WA. My model came with an Igloo cooler that fits into the space, while the port side has storage drawers. The previous owner damaged the right edge of the fiberglass shell insert, so I'm removing it to see if it can be repaired. I'm wondering if any 2600 WA owners have ever removed the inside of this cabinet because I also need to replace the hose from the head to the holding tank. So my second question is...does removing the liner of the cabinet allow access to the under deck area and holding tank? It looks like there's an access panel behind the steps into the cabin, but I haven't remove it yet. Can someone tell me what's behind that panel? Hoping someone has some experience in this area of the boat before I start taking things apart. Here's a pic of the area I'm talking about. Thanks for any help.

I would call Sailfish about your access question before you start. They know what is behind that storage compartment and should be able to steer you in the right dorection.

I called them yesterday and sent them the picture. They said parts are no longer available and said good luck. The guy I talked to didn't seem to know whats under or behind the compartment. Looks like I'll just start taking things apart and find what's in there. I'm retired and enjoy working on my boat doing preventive maintenance and solving problems. The holding tank level gauge has been flashing indicating the tank is full even though it isn't...I'll check that system out as well.

I have a 2008 2660 WAC so may not be the same but I would expect it is. I believe mine used to have the cooler and was changed to drawers (before I owned it). I pull those drawers out every season, water heater and waste tank are behind it. I crawled in there to replace the macerater pump on the waste system.
