It’s that time of year again....
First, I promise to use the boat more next year! My 8 yo finally came around to fishing in a big way so that should help! Only cost me a $350 bottom rig! Shimano takota level wind loaded with 50# braid. It’s light, and made all the difference.
Second, I’ve been doing nothing but repairs lately, be nice to do an upgrade! I think this winters project will be a fells marine mob kill switch. I’m on my 3rd auto tether and I think it’s dead again.
So what are you guys giving your ride this winter?

Funny, but I was thinking about the MOB too. Trying to figure out where to put the controller since I've all but filled up the console.

This year I've got several minor repairs to deal with. They take more time and labor than money. When said and done I'll make the decision to seriously sell or keep if I keep more than likely I'll do the autopilot.

I'm done for a while...
This winter the boat will get new water pumps/impeller and I'll install a new sirius antenna. That's about all I can think of at the moment.

Nothing but a bath and wax for me this winter.

Last winter's project was replacing my spreader lights. This year I'm thinking of upgrading my stereo to a Bluetooth/Sirius set up. Any recommendations are welcome! Great minds think alike. LOL. I need new spreader lights and I am going to upgrade the stereotoo.

I was thinking of using the auto-tether as opposed the Fell MOB on my new 245 DC, but it seems you have had problems with it. Can you elaborate?

I’m on my 3rd autotether. Original, a replacement curtesy of west marine, and current one which has been repaired by company one already. The issue always happens in the clip that goes on kill button. One of 2 issues has happened, either the pin won’t lock in so clip stays on kill switch, or when activated the pin doesn’t pop out to actually activate the kill switch. Easy to install? Yes. Good concept? Yes. Long lasting? No. I’d say it will last you 2-3 seasons.

If you have sea tow I think there is a coupon code. Unfortunately I have tow boat (they’re fine too just no fell mob discount!). Don’t know if someone with sea tow looks up code and posts it wether we can all use or if it’s linked to their membership number. I’ve not seen any feedback except what’s on their site.

Just ordered and it was about $35 less than Amazon or West Marine for the MOB and wrist band. Discount code is SEATOW15 at buy.fellmarine.com/
Thanks for the tip. Finding discounts at SeaTow isn't easy so I don't always check there.

I would be curious whete you put it on your 245dc and how the wiring goes so you can easily get behind to use that cap on total failure of the fell mob unit - I am thinking of having installed on my 245dc Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Truthfully, I'm curious where I can fit it too. I've got a couple of ideas, but until I have it in hand and I'm on the boat, it's only a guess. I'm thinking under the wiper or anchor switch if it will fit there.
