Started a new policy with Charter Lakes last year. Was impressed with the coverage but now the new policy came and its $125 higher! Did they give me a good price just to get me listed with them? Considering looking for a new policy again.

I think all boat insurers had rate increases this year. Yep, after last years hurricanes and losses rates have gone up across the industry and if you happen to be in one of those hard hit high risk areas it is not surprising. Been with CL for 3 yrs and not material change in my premium. It doesn't cost you anything to shop your options but I would be surprised if they get beat using the same coverages.

Thats what Im realizing. My policy is a very good one and although I may find cheaper I think I will likely give up some good coverage. The reason I went with them in the first place. If it levels out Ill be ok with it, but if it continues to increase at this rate I will look elsewhere.

Im at 50k replacement and Im up to 476/yr from 350.
I used the same value that I would expect to sell it for. Is that the best value to use?
