I have a 2015 Sailfish 270cc. I love the boat, but it might just be too big. I never had a twin engine boat before , and i just don't love it as much as I'm supposed to. I'm thinking of buying a new 241cc with a single 250. Does anyone have any thoughts on my downsizing? Am I going to regret it? I need to get 8 adults comfortably on board, I think it can be done with the 241. Other than that it seems like a good step down...Does anyone own a 241? What are your thoughts on the boat. Thanks

First, I think you are nuts and just need to drive it more. Second I have a 2360 if you want to trade! Though it has twins too.

And if you like a white hull color better I'd be happy to work out a trade. 8 people on a 241 or 2360 will be tight, and with a single 250 don't plan on going any were in a hurry. KEEP YOUR BOAT IT'S A BAD IDEA YOUR HAVING. With thoughts like this you may have been exposed to the virus I hope not.

Yea I have some thoughts...
You're the first one I've come across that thinks their boat is too big. Lol. Everyone always wants to go bigger.
I love my 2660, I'd never trade it for a 24 footer. I think the optimal do it all size range is between 26 and 29'

Nope Keep the 270, the 241 is a nice boat but you will regret it and be searching the for sale forums for a 270 in a year or so.

It’s the merc’s isn’t it? Just re-power with twin Yamaha 200’s and you’ll be happy!! I kid, it’s a pretty boat, see you have it listed for sale.

My son-in-law and I had a 28' Albemarle Express Fisherman. We decided to sell it after 10 years as he needed the money and I was retiring. I'm now in a Sailfish 245DC. I really liked the Albe. It was great for a lot of offshore fishing, but not a family boat at all. With the two engines I could put it right next to the dock with ease.
I had to relearn docking with the single engine Sailfish, but scheduled maintenance is now 1/2 the cost. I have to admit I wouldn't take the 24' out in weather I'd go in the 28' but that's not that much of an issue. I guess it depends on your use too. I do about 90 percent of my fishing/boating within sight of land and about 10 percent offshore (15-80 miles out). If it was the other way around, I'd want the larger boat and two engines. Oh, my wife loves the 245DC and really, really disliked the Albe. Having her happy with the boat makes me happier too.

Just depends on your intended use. For going to the sand bar once a month with friends and family, the 241 would be great. If fishing offshore, I would stick with the 270. Learn the boat and motors. Twins are way easier to maneuver once you learn them.
Everyone has different uses for their boat. My 29 is too small for what I do. I need a 36 to 48 footer.

Made a deal on a 241. So I went to look at it, I actually liked it a lot. It was a little bit smaller than the 270 (obviously) but I thought it would’ve worked perfect for my needs, however , I didn’t buy it, it had way too much corrosion on the back for being a brand new boat. Don’t worry will replace all those corroded parts. I said no thanks, not buying a brand new boat that’s already corroded to that degree. .
Anyway for those who are interested, I thought I made a pretty good deal on the boat I was buying. I found a better model, at an out-of-state Dealer, for about 10% less money. And this PDI that many dealers are adding is a complete joke. So it doesn’t hurt to shop around. And my local dealer was not at all interested in matching the out-of-state dealers price. So I’ll buy out of state and ship it. And save a ton of money. Now all I have to do is sell my 270 I can buy it!!

What exactly was corroded on that other boat?

No. The only way I end up with the 241 is if I sell my 27 on my own and then go buy the 241 from the dealer down south.
The trim tabs on the 241 I looked at were rusted, so were the trim pistons, so were the pistons on the motor, and the metal by the drains, and the metal rub rail , and the prop😳. I think they put it in the water to demo it last fall and didn’t rinse it off, that’s all I can figure
That being said I have my 270 priced about 70 grand less than it will cost for a new one. I figured if it wasn’t a crazy economy it would’ve been long gone by now.
