Fuel injectors removed and replaced in my starboard motor with same brand refurbs.
These are the original ones that I'm going to send out and have cleaned.

I was thinking about doing mine with 900 hrs. but I don't have any problems so why fix it if it's not broken. Other than issues at idle what would be another problem to look for with a failing injector.

Spitballing here, but I would think if you didn’t get a good spray pattern there would be extra carbon buildup that would show on plugs. If not enough fuel getting through top end may be reduced. I bet the computers would compensate for idle speed, but they may not be that sophisticated.
Every time this comes up I think I should do mine. Never seem to get around to it.

There is a filter screen on the opposite end that can also get clogged, so while carbon deposits might not necessarily show on the nozzle itself there could be problems with clogged filters. Some of my nozzle ends did show a little bit of corrosion on the outside (you can see some of that in the pics if you zoom in) so not sure if there is any of that going on in the inside of the nozzle that might be effecting flow at low idle speed. When you send the injectors out to be cleaned, they remove and replace this filter screen among other things. My starboard motor would periodically and inexplicably bogg down at idle speed, it did this even after the VST and other internal fuel filters were replaced. The only other possible cause I could think of were the injectors and with 10 yrs and over 600 hrs I figure it was time to either send them out for cleaning or try replacing that set.

You going to use injector-man or whomever he is that does the pre and post injection tests? Be interesting to see the numbers. My motors are 14 years old with 800hrs.

I may send them to the guy I purchased the refurbs from Motor Man Fuel Injectors. He also sells on Ebay with good reviews. www.injectors4u.com/recondition-return-service/

And one interesting thing of note, while pulling the electrical connectors from each injector, I found that one connector was missing the latch clasp that you would pinch to pull the connector. Not sure if that had anything to do with it but I would suspect if it did the problem would be there all of the time?
Anyway glad I found it cause that's one of those things that could rear its ugly head at the worst time. I didnt replace the connector but I did put a zip tie on it. Not professional but should keep it secure.

So as a follow up here, I got the injectors I sent in for cleaning/refurb and here is the before and after spray report...
Clearly there was a bit of clogging going on. I will likely put these in my starboard motor next year and send the old ones out for the same treatment which I'll keep on hand as a spare so no downtime.

So I've cleaned injectors on my jeep before.... Here was my process
Pull injectors Hook injector 12v source with a momentary switch Place silicone tube over "inlet" Spray brake cleaner into silicone tube Add slight pressure with air chuck on other end of silicone tube Depress switch to spray the cleaner through injector
Not sure if it works with the ones toy pulled, but wanted to throw out a possible additional diy
