The Lowrance seen in this picture has a lot of burn in, virtually unusable, so I'm replacing it with an Axiom 7RV. I was originally going to mount it in place of the Lowrance, but after some thought, I believe I can flush / flat mount it in the area that I photoshopped. It would have to go there because the spot immediately next to the gauges is like .25" too short. One question, can the sun cover be put on it if it's flush or only flat? I'm also thinking that the open area between the gauges and where the unit would go would hold a recessed dry box with a flip down cover. Any recommendations for a recessed dry area like that? For anyone that's mounted theirs similar to this, will it be too far out of the way to reference if it's down and off to the side like that? I know that last one is certainly subjective, but I'd love to hear what people have to say before I cut a big ole hole in the console. Also, how do I properly seal the holes in the top from removing the old mount? Thanks! Current Configuration: Proposed Mount: Attachment Deleted

I think that’s pretty far right....I’d be annoyed. But if you decide to do it, the quick and easy way to fill the holes is put the screws back in with some 4200.

I agree a little to far right... I like to keep my plotter right in front of my face. So you can look up and down under way. If it was a 2nd MFD then yes as it could be used for Sonar/Radar.

Well I took the advice and mounted at the top for now. What if it were flat mounted in the middle? I Might need to add a bump up in the console to fit it, but it might look cleaner and be much more centered.

If it fit there I would do it but if I had to modify the dash other than just cutting a hole and dropping it in I wouldn't, but that's just me.
