If you need a medication Bonnine is the best it is over the counter and is no drowsy.Best thing that I have found is to watch what you eat for breakfast. Stay hydrated (preferably with water) but in moderation. Also "Saltine crackers" loads of them. They will keep your stomach dry and they will soak up the water that you take in. The idea is to keep something in your stomach to keep it dry, so there is no liquid sloshing around. Never go below as bad as you may feel. Keep staring at the horizon (it never moves) take long deep breaths. But if you do all of this and still get queasy the best thing to do is put 2 fingers down your throat (I know it sounds disgusting) but once you get what is making you nauseous out of your system you will feel better.

I've been taking a 1/2 less drowsy dramamine the night before and it's working fine for me in the absence of the scope patch.
Going to head out one more time tomorrow.

Tomorrow looks great, me and my 12yo are going to try and find some new bottom areas out of Bogue Inlet. If anyone has numbers they want to share.... 😁

I think we are going to give it a go tomorrow, heading to the Tarpon to troll. Probably getting a late start since I've done nothing to get ready. Got some good Intel from the neighbor with that 36 YF who has fished a lot over the last week. He managed 8 wahoo, some mahi and a couple of blackfin in 120' of water. Looks to be one of the last days before the fan gets turned on. I'm probably going to haul the boat Tues since the forecast is calling for a nasty SW +/-25 knt blow and I dont feel like dicking with trying to put the boat on the trailer at the unprotected ramp on the sound with a SW blow coming right up the sound. I really hate the ramp here...

Bonine Kids for the boy If I drink the night before, and it’s rough, I’ve felt it. Probably taken a bonine a few times myself over the years when I know the conditions are right (alcohol, big seas and a diesel) Thankfully I haven’t been sick since 78.

Happily, we don't suffer with seasickness, but have travelled with those that do. Nearly all found the patch to be most effective. But let's remember that this is like any other Canada Drugs medication - what works for one person may not work f iui r another. People who insisted on taking pills or the patch as a prophylactic before they knew if they were inclined to be seasick were sorry they did. Wait and see is the best approach.
