First chance I've had to post these pictures taken a couple weeks back. I was able to fish 3 of the 4 days that they allowed for Red Snapper in the Atlantic this year. I was able to fish 2 of those days with my daughter, which was fun. Since the limit was only 1 per person, it made a struggle to decide to keep or throw back. Of course, in our minds, we were always going to catch a bigger one, so throw it back! We made the mistake early on and ended up keeping some that were smaller than the ones we kept. On the last day, we were able to catch 4 nice ones plus a decent mutton, and threw back maybe 2 dozen or more in the 3-7 lb range. It was nice to find out that quite a few local anglers struck out on the last day, in spite of complaining the previous 11-1/2 months that "all I can catch are red snapper" and "they need to open the season longer". Sorry, but you have to open the pictures to view them vertically. The last attachment is a video of Jacqueline on her first day out.

Very nice! We’re you fishing natural bottom or wrecks?

Very nice! We’re you fishing natural bottom or wrecks? It was an area of small natural ledges and breaks. There are some wrecks in the area, but 2 or 3 boats on every one and action not any better!

I hear ya. I try to target natural bottom also, especially on crowded days. I catch bigger fish on natural bottom also. I think less pressure helps.
