Well I don't have Simrad but I do have Garmin. I can at least respond to a couple of your questions...
My pump is mounted in my footlocker providing a short run to the healm.
My heading sensor is mounted in my forward in-floor storage/fish box.

I’ve got an ‘06 2360 with simrad AP. The pump is in next to the batteries. I only have 2 batts but the install could have been done leaving room for 3. The compass is in the bow floor storage compartment. It’s mounted high on the aft wall. I paid someone else to do the install so I don’t know how he got the wires there.

Greatly appreciate the info
Have 4 batteries filling that compartment, so Footlocker idea is looking likely for the pump
Good ideas for the compass location I redid the fresh water system with a new tank and pump in that bow floor compartment, and Might have enough room for a small custom shelf for the little precision9 compass. Not sure if fw pump motor might interfere with the compass, will research

On my AP44 I had to move that compass. I originally had it vary near the Fusion radio and that seemed to bother it. Since my 245DC has a fairly large storage area I moved it about 2 feet forward and it has worked well since.

I've installed four autopilots and have gone the route of piecing together my own components, mainly because I don't feel I need a separate controller and I can usually save a few bucks by shopping around, sales, etc.
1. I like the Seastar AP1219 pump, it usually can be found a little cheaper and I like it's more vertical mounting orientation. I've had three Sailfishs and put them on the right side of the foot locker. Buy three short steering hoses and tee the pump it and the back of the helm and your good to go. 2. I'm a Simrad guy and have found the autopilot UI built into their MFDs to be pretty easy, so as I mentioned I don't install a separate controller. But it helps that I have dual 12" mfds and 95% of the time just hit the "heading hold" option and sit back for 30 miles, lol. 3. This last time I used an HS60 compass for the combination of a better gps antenna and autopilot compass. I was installing a whole electronics suite at once, so it made it a little easier and supposedly it's more accurate...who knows on the accurate part, but I like easier.
Anyway, probably a bunch of info you don't need but I thought I'd share. I've installed Raymarine, Garmin and Simrad systems at this point and I have to say, I think the Raymarine Ev-200 was the easiest to get going and trouble free...probably because it wasn't networked to anything, ha!

Awesome additional info, thanks so much
A specific hydraulic line question - Currently have just 2 lines from steering cylinder to helm pump. The helm pump has plugged center fitting marked R
Simrad install diagram shows 3 lines. For the additional line, appears just a new direct hose from the helm’s center (Return) fitting to the pump’s center fitting?

That line is how the pump gets filled when you fill the helm.

Last install I copied this guys system for bleeding. Just duct taped the power steering bottle upside down to the t top, ran the feed line out the bottom to the helm inlet and cut two holes for the return lines/tubing into the top of the bottle. Worked great! I just slowly bled it all day while I did yard work, super easy and no mess:
