Need to run new wire and thought there was a thread here about the route to take when running the new wire. But I’ll be damned if I can find it through the search mode. Suggestions? Thanks.

my 2006 2660's bow light was somewhat dim. thought i might need to eventually rewire. When the incandescent bulb burned out this summer, tried west marine led replacement - happily surprised it brightened so well. Should have upgraded to led sooner. Old incandescent bulb was #78 New west marine replacement is BA15D-1142 Before the led bulb went in, the socket was thoroughly cleaned out and then it and the led base was coated with dielectric grease

Tie the new wire to the old wire and pull it through. It might seem like double the work, but if you really don't know the chases you're going through, you might be better tying a thin but strong string to the existing wire, pulling that though and using the same string to pull the new wire back. Sometimes connecting two wires can get bulky. If the "knot" get's caught and comes apart you can be really screwed. Ask me how I know....

Have run many wires through my 2660 (ie added a rebuilt ebox to t-top, added windless wiring to the bow (royal pita), added second fresh water tank in the bow floor compartment) Looped opposing wire ends together and also looped a pull string in case there's a next time Snug quality electrical tape wrap to smooth out with no knot bumps, and no exposed wire ends or string ends Lots of electricians wiring glide lube (got a quart bottle from home depot / lowes, might outlast me lol)
For new wiring or plumbing, to find routing channel have used my house electrician fiberglass push/pull rod(s) and small inexpensive electricians fish In most cases on the boat that little fish worked well
