has anyone insulated the front fish boxes on a 218cc? We fished offshore yesterday and by the time we got back almost all of the 200lbs of ice was gone. Any suggestions?

I covered the whole lid of the floor boxes of my 2860 with neoprene foam, similar to what sailfish does in their new boats. Did it turn them into built in watertight yetis? No, but it for sure helped. I'm going to try and add some more under the floor sections this winter. I used spray adhesive to stick them on. So far, nothing has pulled loose or torn...the neoprene is fine to stay wet. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BKT33BW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

In the mean time, just cover that lid. When off shore i place my life raft over it. A tarp, a rubber mat anything to keep the sun directly off your ice will make a huge difference. I also installed rubber gaskets on all my covers. The hard part of the project is the correct placement of the rubber.
