Looking for a 218 with 4 stroke power. (Or perhaps needing a repower if the price is right) I am in IL but willing to travel. I keep an eye on Craigslist and Facebook, but please let me know if someone is looking to sell!
Thanks!

I have been in contact with him. Not sure about the 250hp motor. Anyone have any experience? Was hoping to put a kicker motor on as well and I think the 250hp with a kicker would be too much weight in the back.

Rated for max hp of 250hp. There were plenty that left the factory with F250s.
But you might be right to be concerned over the extra weight of a kicker.

Good to know, thanks. It appears the 220s are only rated for 200hp though? Has to be a reason that they changed it, no?

Good to know, thanks. It appears the 220s are only rated for 200hp though? Has to be a reason that they changed it, no? SF lowered the rating across many of the new model line up. Eg The 2660 was rated for 500hp, now the 270 is rated for 400hp. The fact of the matter is, this was more about SF didnt sell a lot of these boats with the advertised max hp, the majority were purchased with the minimum hp, so I think they made the decision for logistics/production efficiency reasons to reduce the hp rating to the more popular engine line up. At least that's my understanding

I have a 220 and all of the sales info and sticker that came on the console says 200. But the coastguard capacity sticker says 250. I have a Yamaha f200 pretty much the same weight as f150. I pleased with the performance . It would always be nice to have a little extra power with the 250. But I would also be concerned with the weight . My boat feels a little heavy on the back end with the live well tank and gas tank full. But not enough to be a issue. This boat probably runs best with a 200 HDI but who wants a two stroke anymore. If the boat you decide on has a 250 I would suggest at sea trial fill the live well and see If you like how it rides and how sits in the water.

Thanks for the info. I'd like to stick with a 150 or 200hp, if any more I'd might as well get a 236.
Still looking for a 218! Perhaps a 236.
