I have a '98 198DC and broke the tip off of my gas tank vent on a floating dock at the marina. I know the parts are available, but I see no way to gain access to replace this part. I can take the cover off on the floor to see where the vent tube is connected to the tank, but I see no way to gain access between the tank end of the vent tube and the end that passes through the hull below the gas cap. Is there a secret to this, or is this a part that's installed without a thought to ever having to replace it? I'll try to attach pics.

I'm done here. Guess my boat is not big enough, or has too many consoles to be one of the insiders here. I'll leave you guys with this forum. You seem to be a good tight-knit crew that has no need for new guys. I was just looking for some suggestions, but I'll look elsewhere.

Maybe you just asked too hard of a question? My 2360 he’s a circular inspection plate right there on the inside, if yours does not, might need to add one to get it done.

Maybe no one else has had this problem and no one knows how to replace it. Just because you didn't get an answer dose not mean your question was ignored. 76 members looked at it, I'm sure if someone knew the answer they would have posted how to do it. Good luck.

Mine is all stainless, but I have an access hatch from the inside of the deck. If you don't have access, cut a hole and cover it with a screw on hatch cover

The problem with that type of response is that you are making it final. If you are still here check the reply before this one. I have a 2005 2660 on the inside, there is an inspection plate. If by some chance that you don't have one cut a hole opposite the vent. Large enough for you to comfortably fit your hand to work. After replacing the vent buy a access plate that will fit the hole you cut. Seal it with some silicone screw it in and all will be right with the world.
