I have a glass guy going to repair the gelcoat on my boat. He told me I need to find the matching color. He also said don’t use Spectrum because they match 2 out of 10 times. Does anyone have another idea?

Troof! If he can't color match he isnt very good. Even if you found the factory color it wont match because it's been faded by the sun. Best bet is to find a good gelcoat guy that can match it as close as he can.

Over many years I've had fiberglass repairs done on several different boats by different fiberglass guys. They always were able to match the current color up good enough that you couldn't tell it was patched.
My last fiberglass guy said not to use the factory color as it wouldn't match after the boat had been out awhile.
