I'm looking for any and all information on this boat. Pictures will even work. Over the years the batteries were moved to the deck, I believe they were originally under the console. I have no clue where the original fuel was stored. It is now under the console but with the electronics it seems like a bad idea. I have been considering cutting the deck and adding a fuel tank there but ventilation and filling will be a problem as the sides are maybe a 1/2 inch thick. Any ideas, pictures, or info on this year or similar would be great. Thanks in advance

I bought a ā94 15 ft Sailfish last fall. The previous owner used a portable tank, but I was determined to find the internal tank and more importantly the gas gauge sending unit. It was not under the console. It was about 18 inches from the stern hatch. I wound up cutting the deck for another hatch and replaced the sending unit. The aluminum tank holds 30 gallons and is filled at a vented port on the starboard side in front of the console. Hope this helps.

Were the fill and vent on the console or side of the boat? I can't run a fill and vent on the side as they are only 1/2 inch thick. I would have to create a chase of some sort which would narrow the path between the console and hull side. I have considered running the vent/fill aft but it would be downhill and create a dip which would hold fuel/water.

What does your boat look like? I have the hull of the 186 but the bulwark are different. The stern on my boat is like the 170cc.

My cooler is in front of the console, not behind the seat. I had thought the sending unit access would be under the seat, it is not. The fill is on the starboard gunnel. The vent is just below the gunwale on the hull.

I have the hull of the 186 but the bulwark are different. The stern on my boat is like the 170cc. It appears to be the same boat as the 2002 170cc that I posted above taken from the archived model catalogue rchive posted under the Owners manual link in post above yours. www.sailfishboats.com/catalog-archives/You might have better luck finding info on the 2002 170cc.

This is my boat. The bulwark is thin and rolls over at the top where the rub rail is. Attachments:
