Needed a day out of the oil truck needed some therapy work on the boat replaced splash well through Hull tubes and inspection covers. Went with the black just for a change. Attachment Deleted

When you say 'thru hull tubes', do you mean the rims that the inspection covers fit, or the rigging tubes for your wiring?

The three through the transom drain tubes that let the water out of the splash well. Sorry I wasn't very clear.

Good job Glen. I like the look of the black. Did you redo your caulking on the gunnels with black also? That would look good.

Wasn't it Mikey who had posted pictures on the old forum after he did his caulking on the gunnels in black? It looked great. I thought he used Life Seal but can't remember the exact product. There were two different types of Life Seal and he advised only to use one in particular. Just can't remember exactly. Is Mikey still around?

Yes it was Mikey,and I don't remember what I used. I do remember saying $29 plus shipping for a tube of calk, yikes

The majority seems to like Life Seal, so that is what I used to caulk the exterior of my rub rail where it touches the hull. However, after spending a LOT of time removing the old caulk, cleaning with acetone, masking and then applying Life Seal, it was disappointing to have it come off in strings and pieces over the next year. I won't use it again.

Are they 2-piece that screw together from each side of the transom? Yes two piece,, plastic I believe I got them from boat outfitters. I wanted stainless steel but could not find them.
