I guess the other old Sailfish Forum has been deleted or is no longer available to view. I check it from time to time to see what is going on with any new posts. That's to bad because there was a lot of good information on that site. Haven't been able to access it in a while. I keep getting a message that the server can't be found. Does anyone know if it is shut down for good. Thanks.

Yep gone, it was only a matter of time, it was dying a slow death ever since the current owners bought it from the creator and original owner Steve. They stopped maintaining it, stopped fixing problems etc, new owners couldn't even join the site and the site owners were unresponsive.
The new owners tried selling it unsuccessfully, even offering it up for sale on the forum.
A few of us looked into it, but the site hosting/maintenance cost was prohibitive and required greater technical skill than any of us could offer. Seeing the writing on the wall, I started this place so at least that way there was a fallback if/when the plug got pulled and more readily a place where new SF owners could actually join up.
Made some good memories on there back in the day when it was real active, there were a real cast of characters and some funny guys back then, the ball busting that went on was hilarious.

That's a bummer. So much good, historical information on that site. That being said, this site is awesome and only getting better!

Sorry to see it go, but this site is a huge improvement. I suspect I was one of the last new users there before this site was up. Took over a month to get activated. So glad you all started this forum. Great members too!

Were new and improved, and way better. Thank you Chris you made the right call two years ago. The only thing I would love to see happen is more participation. The old site had that all over us. As far as information goes there's enough of us here that we can tackle just about any questions, and or projects. All of diamond girls beautiful woman gone from the Sandbar, now that's a tragedy.

Hate when historical data is lost.
Lots of forums have waned over the Years. I suspect social media platforms like YouTube and Facebook take up peoples free time more

The only thing I would love to see happen is more participation.. Need to schedule a forum weekend get together. I made some loooong lasting friends from FS That was from 15-16 years ago at a forum bash in the keys . Def good stuff. It created memory’s, stories and a bond on the forum I know we’ve tried on the other sailfish forum But I don’t think it contiued...can’t recall

I don’t have Facebook but use my wife’s account to follow this and a few SoFla fishing sites. www.facebook.com/groups/29665675982/?ref=share1900 members, 36 joined last week, was started 12 years ago.

I don't farcebook anymore, deleted my account. I don't care for the interaction format either. Lots of one post wonders and no substance.

Even retired I don't want to use my time looking at FB. Wife keeps up with family via FB and shows me pictures and video from family from time to time and that's enough for me. Would rather be on the boat or cleaning up after finishing the deck remodel, but the yard is full of snow today and everything will have to wait.
