Just signed for a 2003 234 wac with a 200 2s motor. Hour shows to be about 216. Getting the boat surveyed in the next few days.
Is there anything I should pay attention to this boat?

Congrats on the boat and I hope the survey goes well. Can't help on the WAC, but we do have a few owners here and maybe one will provide an answer. Welcome aboard.

Wow that is low hours. I'd get the motor checked out too. 2 strokes like to be run and if that hour meter is correct, that motor has done a lot of sitting. Compression test, engine print out, review of maintenance history. It is probably due for a more major service based on age alone.

I was thinking maybe engine hours were a misprint in his original post.

Thanks everyone, the hour meter reads 216. Compression reading below. Survey and sea trial is going to be done next Monday. The dealer took it in on a trade. Boat is dirty and needs a good cleaning. I got to see the boat's picture and facetime (I'm 3k miles away from the boat) pretty much within days of them taking it in on a trade. Exterior vinyl going to need to be done and it does look like someone lost interest in boating. The low hours is quesionable but I think the survey will paint a better picture. The boat I just sold I left sitting for 7 years before taking it out of hibernation. Had under 500 hours on it when I sold it a few weeks ago and it's a 1995. Similarly, the kicker motor on that boat was a 2002 and saw no more than 30 hours. The dealer told me they'll go over the boat and address any minor issues they see fit before sending it off. From my research, the dealer has a good reputation with many satisfied customers. Hoping all goes well.
Out here on the rivers and lakes, I typical run the boat 15-20 minutes to the fishing spot, toss anchor and don't go anywhere. if I go every weeekend, I would put no more than 5-6 hours on the boat a month which could include slow days where I'm moving around looking for fish.

Your compression numbers don’t look too bad. I think 130 is about where it is from the factory. The 140 is a little high but probably carbon in the cylinder or the gauge is a off. They are all within 10% of each other and well above 90. 110 to 130 is ideal for a two stroke.
If the motor survey checks out. I wouldn’t be overly concerned with the low hours on the motor. I guess it depends on if it was ran a little each year or sat idle years on end. I would still spray mystery marvel oil in the cylinders and through the intake and let it sit a little while to maybe loosen things up a little. I would also go through the fuel system change every filter. Make sure all fuel lines are in good shape. I would make sure it has fresh fuel and add marvel oil or ring free to the gas the first few tanks.
If it has sat for a good while I would do a break in as if it were a new motor to let things ware in again. The major internal engine components should be fine. It’s all if the little things that you have to watch out for with a motor that has sat a lot like seals getting hard , clogged injectors, corroded electric connections. I would think most of the gremlins will be in the fuel delivery system. Depending on if it’s EFI or carbureted.
If it was kept out of the elements and properly winterized. You might have a 18 year old like new motor. I hope you survey checks out good.

Wondering how you made out with your survey. I believe this is the same boat I was going to look at last week in MD. Its still on the dealers website so either they haven't updated their site or the survey didn't go well.

What did they say to you when you reached out?

I never called, when I was doing my research on the boat model I saw this post so I figured it was off the market. Yeah, weather has been bad the past few weeks. Best of luck with your survey.

No sea trial yet but land survey is not looking great. Owner really neglected the boat on top of lots of mickey mouse wiring, gunnel and the top side of the transom has signs of delamination, some area has higher moisture than other. I thought this boat had no wood construction but found wood in the cockpit step down?
Live well houses all need to be replaced, external oil tank bracket is pretty rusted. Headlines is shot and will need to be replaced.
Looking at the photos accessing the through hull is going to be a major pain. Has anyone gone through this with similar boat?
The hours in the motor is questionable but based on the condition, I think it's just left sitting neglected for many many years.
I'm debating if it's worth moving forward. Leaning toward no

Some guys (not me) enjoy working on project boats and doing restoration. Unless that’s your thing I’d pass on this one.

Be careful with that low hour motor. My good friend had same motor with similar low hours. His compression numbers were all good and motor ran decent but there was corrosion on the block, he had to JB Weld a hole. He was the original owner and took care of the boat but used it only 20 hour or less a year. Sitting is not good for any outboard. It sounds like you should pass anyways unless the price is real low.
Good luck
