Wow
Pretty good video showing some of the unique features of this new motor. The steering is crazy cool in a weird sort of way. Hahaha

I expect this Verado to spend 50% of it life at the mechanic, as compared to a 250hp to 300hp Verado which spends about 33% of its time at the mechanic.

I’m going to be running a yellowfin with trip 300 verados this summer and I’m dreading it. I know they are going to be in the shop the majority of the time.

I keep hearing how reliable Mercury's are today. Wtf?
Those new light weight V6s 225hp they came out with would look interesting if I was going to repower today.
I heard Yamaha is back logged for many months right now.

In my opinion Mercury pushes the envelope way too far on these motors that's why they're always in the shop.

Also, the durability of the steerable gear case will be interesting to keep an eye on. Interesting concept, however, is it just another future problem? If reliable, steerable gear cases will be on many future lower hp models. Those that can afford to repair them will be the only ones purchasing these beasts. Repairs won’t be an issue other than their boat is in the shop while our tiny 22-36 footers are heading out to sea.
