Stop what pal. You have a choice not to read if it upset you that much. I read all posts to see if there is anything interesting. But alas more politics..... And yes this does aggravate me, I am sick of going on web sites and seeing this stuff....

Truth hurts,, I always say things the way I see them for the good or the bad don't take offense it's called freedom of speech. It's okay if you agree or disagree that's your right.

That's your opinion and I'm fine with that I disagree but it don't bother me.

The forum is a platform for people to share stories, information and yes, express opinions and yes there will be differences of opinion regardless of the subject matter. You can obviously see the challenge of tailoring a forum to meet the needs and expectations of every user - not happening.
Glen has been around the forums (old and new) and the brand for something like 18 yrs. He's owned two SF boats, is a wealth of k knowledge and his opinions or those expressed by others over the years at the old forum or here haven't really been an issue or all that controversial.
Moral of the story, if you wade into the waters, expect to get wet, otherwise stay on shore.

Polarization seems to be on most sites today. Sad that we've come to the point that it's my way or the 'wrong' way. The admiral and I have very different opinions, but we've agreed to disagree and still respect each other's opinions. Try www.bandofboaters.com/forum if you want to see what happens if the opinions are all one sided. I like our forum as I want to hear opposing views when presented intelligently and with respect for my opinion. For the most part that happens here and really, for the most part this forum is about boats. Winter causes it to stray a bit from boats, but that okay.

I didn’t say I didn’t respect his opinions - I was just hoping this site was just about fishing and boats

I didn’t say I didn’t respect his opinions - I was just hoping this site was just about fishing and boats Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk It is, but it is not limited to that, the content can be just about whatever you want to talk about so long as it's legal and within bounds of decency, that is why there is a Back at the Dock section, it says what is expected here in the sub forum description. Truth is it would be a boring place if it was only limited to boating/fishing discussion. There's very little fishing discussion going on esp in the winter for those of us up north, which leaves the balance to welcoming new members, some boat discussion, bitching about the weather, mortgage interest rates and the like and yes the occasional politically disgruntled citizen.

Back to the topic at hand, I've seriously considered filling up the boat now even though it's sitting in my driveway for the winter while gas is at $2.67 per gallon.

X2. I'd go crazy in wintertime if it wasn't for whale watching trips and stuff people put on the forum (thanks everyone). Just got some new fishing gloves and waiting for new outrigger pulleys to arrive so I have an excuse to go to the boat. Summer can't come soon enough.
