Any suggestions? I am getting one primarily for the anchor or spot lock function fishing offshore to hold my spot. Too old to pull an anchor now. Was looming at Minn Kota Terova 84ā shaft BURs its back ordered. Also looking at Rhodan. Anyone had experience with either?

I had a 36V Rhodan 96" installed on my 29CC. Hold the spot pretty darn good. It is a bit heavy to lift up once done fishing but I get used to that.

Baksie999, I am interested in the same Rhodan on my 29CC. Can you attach a few pictures of the finished install? THX!

I installed a Minn Kota 84" Terova on my 266 last spring and I LOVE IT! Spot Lock is life changing as I'm sure you've heard. I'll ask the dealer up here if he can get any.

I use a Minn Kota 87ā 36 volt 112lb thrust on my 290 and it does great in most conditions in the Chesapeake bay. It has been problem free for over two years.

Has anyone done a 72" on a 2660? That's what I was planning, but I keep seeing 84 and 96 here. Don't want to buy too short, but 7' is a long shaft! I was looking at the Rhodan because it can theoretically integrate with Simrad plotters and it draws less than the MK.
Between the Rhodan and the MK, any strong opinions?

Dontezuma, For what it is worth, my suggestion is to go longer than 72-inch for your 2660. I installed a 72-inch Rhodan on my 218 a few years back and it has been fantastic. No more pulling the anchor and it's great to be able to drift then spot-lock when something interesting shows on the sonar. The 72-inch holds position even when conditions are sporty, but for a boat larger than ~21' I would definitely go with a longer TM. Rhodan and I believe MK both provide guidance on length based on the distance from your specific mounting position to the waterline. One thing to consider with a longer shaft is mounting the TM so the top of the unit does not hang way over the rub rail in the stowed position. Also recommend a backing plate underneath the deck and well as on top to better withstand the greater torque the longer shaft will exert on the deck. Your 2660 likely has more real estate to mount the TM, but for reference attached are a few pix of how I approached the installation on my 218. The forward nav light was replaced with port/starboard LEDs. Modified one of the Rhodan aluminum deck mounting plates to use as a backing plate. To allow full anchor locker access with the TM installed, I made a fixture to cut the anchor hatch and added some GemLux friction hinges. The double hinge keeps the hatch from hitting the TM shaft. The Rhodan has been trouble-free for 2+ years and they always promptly responded to any questions I had for them.
