Thursday the 11th, my granddaughter and I were out enjoying the water off of the first lighthouse the US government put up (Cape Henry). A lot of people in our area winterize and lock up their boats for winter, but I don't mind the cold as much as I'd mind being without the boat. You can see the old and new lighthouse through the spray. Guess I should add that I just had a offshore reel strung and I put a fan in the truck yesterday that I'll be adding to the boat for summertime.

Thata boy Glen! You got that ladder up to work on your nav light? Yes i made a 2" lift so I could use existing holes from old light and then mounted the new light into the blocking. Also this light was only sold at a 12-in length and I needed 14 in to be above the radar dome. Something new it's rated for 3 nautical miles of visibility..

My old light halogen was 14 in this new one was only 12. It's made by Atwood it's an LED anchor / Mass headlight 7800 series. It has three LED bulbs and mirrors it's pretty wild. 85 bucks delivered bought it from Hodge Marine. The original factory one was a Perko

Can you just connect it direct to the old power source or is there a box that has to connect to the power source?

The issue I have with something that tall is trailering getting under bridges right now I'm sitting about 12'6". Not to mention tree branches. As far as folding it down being mounted in the center you can't reach it without a ladder to fold it down. Something to consider if you're replacing.

Yea I have to admit it's a PIA to reach to fold down for trailering. I'm just over 6' and I can barely get my finger tips on it standing on the gunwale.
This light is about 5.5" taller than what I have now. Not sure if that will be too tall looking or not?

For us short guys having the light aft is needed. Really like the placement on the 245DC. Only picture I could find has the light down, but you can see what I mean. Not sure how I'd reach it if it was was much more forward.

Managed to drain my lower unit oils and engine oil today, only to realize I was 6 quarts short on Mobile One and apparently ran out of lower unit drain gaskets last year.
So I ordered more gaskets and oil, awaiting their arrival on Tues so I can finish the job. Hate when that happens... ..

That's perfect.theres no way to hide the wires if I were to run it to the back of the t top.
