I am on south shore of Long Island, Fire Island inlet. Just found a bunker this morning on my dock, dropped by a osprey. Bass have to be close by.

I'm going to do my other two batteries this summer since I had one go bad on me in the fall.

Went out today. Water was calm, light fog...but the crab pots created a mine field. They were everywhere but the ship channel. I've learned to deal with them, but with short ropes and strong current, they almost become invisible. It would have been much worse in choppy water.

I'm going to do my other two batteries this summer since I had one go bad on me in the fall. It's my understanding that every battery on the market is made by one of two manufacturers. then comes the labels they all have different brand names and labels but all come from the same place. I refuse to pay crazy money for batteries the last two I had lasted me six seasons in the boat they were $140 a piece they were group 27's Sears DieHard marine batteries deep cycle. Three or $400 for a battery that's insanity.

The AGM Sears used to sell was made by Odyssey, which was/is a great battery, but could get it for less branded as a Sears. Lol

Funny you're discussing batteries. While out today the Coast Guard decided I needed a safety inspection. Cut off the engine and got the GC all they asked for. After they pulled off I went to start the engine and got warnings on the autopilot and chartplotter of low battery. They're 3 years old, so it's probably time. No Deka sales within 100 miles of me, so that's out.

I went with another brand they sell that has nearly the same specs as my Dekas. Probably made by East Penn too lol. Since I already replaced one, I'll likely just go with 3 of the same. I'm sure they'll be fine. But man I hate replacing 3 tightly packed group 27 batteries, access really stinks, very tight.

X2 on replacing the batteries, my son watches and laughs at me as I get myself stuck in that tight area.
