I am looking at a 2016 270 CC, we currently have a 23 Grady White Gulfstream and boat in Buzzards Bay. How does the 270 with twin 200’s handle the chop in Buzzards Bay?

Not familiar with sea conditions in buzzards Bay itself but I will say I'm 100% positive it'll be much better than the Grady White you're in now.

Like finatic, I'm not familiar with Buzzards Bay, but I'm at the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay. A 'normal' day is 1-2 chop and 2-3 swells near Cape Henry. I put grandkids in the bow of the dual console regularly because they love the ride when it's like that. If the wind is over 10knots we'll get some spray from time to time while heading into the wind, but if it's less than 10knot winds the boat stays dry (it's a 245DC).
You might look at the weight of each boat for some idea of the difference in ride (one of the reasons we chose Sailfish). Most Sailfish boats are heavier than other manufacturer boats of the same size and weight makes a fairly large difference in smoothing out the ride when in chop. And, of course trim tabs can be very important for improving the ride in chop. I'd expect the increase in length you're looking at will help too.
Let us know what you end up doing.

I think you will love that boat in Buzzards Bay, huge improvement over your Grady. Grady's are well built but the size and space difference coupled with the build quality and weight of 27 Sailfish, you will not be disappointed. When the right boat comes along I will be moving up into the 27CC Sailfish.

When she blows out of the South West in the afternoon and you're heading into it; you'll know why you made the decision to score the Sailfish!!!

And curtains, get yourself a good set of curtains for those windy sloppy and cooler Spring/Fall days.

Thanks for the feedback, sounds great. Other than the standard items to look at on a used boat is there any specific issues to look for on a 2016 270 CC?

Not anywhere near Buzzards Bay but I do tackle 15-20 miles off shore in central Florida. Guess I should mention I have a 2660 and although I don’t push the limits I haven’t been in any situations where I felt scared. Handles the 2-3 ft chop at 25 mph. What I’ve noticed is that she likes to be run hard in tough conditions.

Survey and sea trial the boat (preferably in less than ideal conditions). I sea trialed mine and it was snotty/rain/wind and it handled it like a champ. That sold me on the boat on the spot.

The boat will handle more than the passengers will.

Your boat will be great in B-Bay! I just sold my 2008 2660 CC and spent 10 years in Nantucket sound waters and beyond. You are set up quite nice with twin 2's. Also agree on getting the side flaps for those 2pm changing winds from the west. Enjoy your ride
