Don’t know how much rode will fit in your boat, but as far as rode size-
3/8” will be barely suitable, hurts your hands pulling up, but will fit the most in your anchor locker (I’ve got 500’ in my 2360 no problem. This is no storm anchor. Bottom fishing or at the beach.
7/16 would be recommended minimum for your boat, but it’s a big 27, wide beam, ttop..... if your going to size up anyway....
1/2” is standard. Buy a 500’ spool, learn to splice (you tube is your friend), and fit what you can. Anything you can’t can be used on a second beach anchor. I suspect if you put it in neatly, it will all go in.
Don’t skimp on the chain. It’s the key to the whole thing working. Generally about the length of your boat will do. Personally I’ve got about 15’ but sized up for more weight/ better anchoring. Merely my preference as I find the length of chain to be more difficult to keep off the sides of my boat than the weight of it.

And type depends if you have a windlass. If not, standard 3 strand is inexpensive, good stretch, and doesn’t rot. Windlass is a whole other story, don’t have one and don’t want to give you bad info.

With my windlass 700 V Lemar, I've got 200ft of 8 stra braid 1/2" on my 2360. Maybe some help to get you started.
BTW, login and join, would be nice . Good luck.

You should have at least 20ft of chain and 3x the depth you plan to anchor so if you plan to go 100ft, then you should have at least 300ft of rode. Mine came with 150ft and 15ft of chain. It won’t hold in 60-80ft. It drags. Not enough scope. Of course the windlass takes forever to deploy and by the time its out, the fish are gone. I will not be replacing it when it dies. Its a great anchor. When the time comes, I’ll be switching to an anchor ball. If you are in a storm you need a sea anchor to keep the bow pointed at the waves. That is on my short list of things to get. I would love to have a Rhodan and just toss the anchor in the locker for the very very rare occassion that we might want to hang out at the sand bar or maybe sleep on the boat.

Hi All, Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but also hoping for some 1st hand experience on anchor line capacity on a 2660 or similar hull. The boat is new to me, and the previous owner only had ~100' of anchor line. I'm hoping to maximize the anchor rode onboard as we do anchor well into the 150'+ range on occasion when fishing. I realize rope type and diameter of course matter, I'm planning on 1/2" 8-plait rode, but any info is helpful. Short of buying 600' and immediately needing to cut off 100'/200'/300' of it, can anyone else chime in on what they have on-board?. Even "I have X' and have room for more" would be very helpful. TIA EDIT: I should mention that I'm talking about the forward anchor compartment, but I don't plan on the anchor also being in there (on a pulpit with a windlass).

Well, for anyone in the future that may be searching this topic, here's what I can add. I ordered 400' of 1/2" 8-plait rope with 20' of chain for my 2660. It all fit, and the rope is sitting just slightly above the bottom lip of the cutout inside the anchor locker door. Got a picture of it, but not sure if I can upload it. I put it in new/dry with an occasional shove to the left or right to load the locker evenly. With the rope wet, I suspect it'll lay itself down better than my occasional shove did. Will have to see how it lays in there the first time it is all scoped out and put back in wet, but 400' appears to fit comfortably. I'm guessing easily another 50', maybe 100' if you are REALLY trying to get every foot of rope you can in there (and not create a big tangled mess of course).
