Hello I have a 2007 2660 and I fish out of Orange Beach Al. I have 500 hours on twin Yamaha 150 HPDI’s. I am looking at connecting my Garmin 8612 to the motors via the j1939. If you have done this please let me know if you found this to work good. I have the 36 volt minnkota ulterra on the front but I am having trouble with the batteries staying charged long enough to stay on reefs off shore.

Welcome aboard. As for the J1939, I have no experience, but Garmin has information in their support pages on the connection and data supported. I had planned to do a NMEA connection on my boat, but decided with only one chartplotter I wouldn't use the motor data very often and I am happy with the Yamaha Command Link Gauge data.

Welcome
I connected my F150s to my 8212's a few years back. I got an aftermarket cable online somewhere, BOE Marine maybe... I think a connection or something has come loose cause I lost some read outs. To be honest I never used it when it did work because I always had my plotter on one MFD and usually my radar or sonar on my other.
