Surprised I have to make this post, but I'd like to calibrate my response before I call back Sailfish in Florida - Some of you familiar with me may remember that I'm putting some real TLC back into my boat which apparently for years was fished hard and put away wet... Doing minor mechanical repairs, vinyl repairs, a hard compound and polish on the topsides last year and this spring I'm taking on the deep blue (and heavily oxidized) hull. The "SAILFISH" lettering and logo are chipped and pitted, so I thought now is a good time to remove the old ones - it'll make work with the orbital buffer easier, and replace them. I called and ordered from the factory.
They arrived - shipped in a box (too big) with alignment tape (that's good), but they had crumpled in shipment and come off the alignment tape - on both sides, meaning the adhesive backing on the lettering was compromised. But that's not the worst of it.
The items are pitted, almost as bad as my 9-year old emblems on the boat!?? I'm stunned and very concerned about *anything* I could get from the factory now (this is my first purchase).
Some pic's attached - what do you think? I mean, I *have* to return these, but where do I go after that?
Thanks

Man that sucks and deserves a return label for sure. I would call Sailfish explain what you said above and have them ship you another set hopefully the new set will be good to go.

They're so bad it's actually funny. WTF Sailfish were you thinking. I don't recall you stating you were blind and needed Braille.

I have bought chrome decals from Sailfish direct several times and never had an issue with the packaging or the letters.
Call'm up and tell them what you got and tell him you'll email pictures. Tell'm ya just want them replaced. I dont suspect you'll have a problem getting them swapped out.
Ps Sailfish is in Cairo, Georgia.

Looks like a dealer mailed out something they've had laying around the shelf for some time, without a concern of the quality.
I have also upgraded from the flat vinyl decal to the raised chrome logos. I've bought several pairs and not had a problem with them looking like this.

Finally following up - It didn't take this long, I just forgot about my post. They were good about it. I backed off on the lettering - it was OK, just took a little care to make sure they were aligned. And they sent me two new Sailfish logos without requesting the originals back. So now I have one each for my shop and my toolbox!
Thanks for the encouragement to call them.
