I am in the market for a good used Sailfish Center Console. It will be used all around the Cape Cod waters. I will be fishing 20 miles off shore at times with a couple of the grand kids & at times taking them tubing. The stats for the 22 is a capacity of 8 while the 24 is 10. Quite often I will be at CAPACITY while tubing or cruising in close to shore. Probably, at times, I’ll have more than 8 passengers with most being kids. Will the 22 handle off shore fishing or would you recommend the 24? With a single 200 hp. On the 22, what can I expect for gph at cruising speed vs. the 24 with a 300? thanks in advance Boman49

Both are capable to fish offshore of course you need to have a good weather day. My suggestion would be a 2360 or 24 with twins two props in the water will be better tubing, also better with people moving around the boat for balance of the vessel. There are web sites you can refer to regarding fuel burn & speed.

I agree with Glen, he's also owns/owned both boats you're looking at - the 218 now called the 220 and the 2360 now called the 240 or whatever numbers theyve assigned to it now.
A lot more space in the 24 with it's 9' beam assuming that's model you're looking at.

Take the advice above and go with the 24 with twin screws. 8-10 people on a 21ft boat is a lot. If you go with the 21 get the 200 SHO and you might want to get with Whippersnapper on the details on a ECU swap to a 250hp.

All boat owners develop "2 footitis". It is a horrible disease that after owning a boat for a few seasons they want to move up in size by at least 2 feet. Wives don't typically love the disease and can be very misunderstanding. Go with the 24 and good luck with the search.

Check out "boattest.com" results on Sailfish's website or the internet for fuel results.
Based on your use, I would 100% go with the 24 and not hesitate with a 300HP. I am expecting delivery of a new 241cc with a 300HP next month and compared it to the 220 with a 150/200 just because of budget purposes. The 241 feels like a much bigger boat than it is and the 220 felt like a smaller boat than it is, in my opinion. Both are great boats though if budget only allows for the 220! Your grandkids and family will enjoy the 24' more. 8-10 people on a 24' boat will still feel a little tight but if you are just cruising and a few of those are smaller kids, it should be fine. Not sure what year you are going to be looking at but just wanted to give you my two cents worth since I just did this exercise and ended up with a new 24. Goodluck!

I agree with all above. The 2360 or 240 is a great boat. I have a 2360 with twins and it handles the rough stuff better than most 26 - 30 footers.

I didn’t know about the stability that you also get. What I don’t like is the extra 400 pounds on the stern. The boat sits very low in the water when stationary & water must fill a bit of the stern through the scups. I was looking at the one on line for sale on I think, “boats.com” for sale out of Portland, Oregon for $64,500. Low hours &bottom painted lower unit because of how she sits in the water. I also thought that there was a lot of corrosion showing on the lower units for so little hours. Your thoughts would be much appreciated.

I dont think the 2360/240 sits low in the water with F150s or water backing up on the deck. Glen/finatic could tell you because that's what he owns.
