Up to 30% of stations in MD are now out, even though our incompetent governor just told us there wasn't a shortage in MD.
I did read that the pipeline is back on line so things should be getting back to normal soon. It seems the biggest challenge right now is getting the fuel to stations fast enough.

You guys are a joke! Its always Biden and this administrations fault. Haha, it was okay when everything was President Trump, but it's not okay to place the lack of leadership on President Biden. That's a bigger joke. Jeez they already shut down the XL pipe line they must have been celebrating when it happened to the colonial pipeline.

The shortage issue isn't lack of supply, its increase in consumption, in this case, and the toilet paper case, its not consumption but hoarding by individuals who are panicking and spreading false information.

While that might be contributory to a degree, by and large the shortages are in fact due to a lack of available product due to a large percentage of the pipeline being shut down. Now that the pipeline is fully operational distributors are overwhelmed with station demand and a bit under gunned on the manpower/delivery side and it is going to take some time to get caught up.

I somewhat agree and that would explain the 10-20% stations out of gas and diesel. However we got up to about 80-90% locally yesterday. If supply and delivery were normal ( and our Democrat governor said we had a supply delivery problem ) it wouldn’t have gotten that bad. I think Nags Head, NC was worse and it’s not tourist season down there yet. So IMHO it was both hoarding out of fear and slow supply delivery. This happened back in the crisis in the 70’s and it was a similar problem and we had to go to even/odd days for gas based on your license plate and limits on how much. Lasted much longer, but hoarding and lack of supply was the cause then too. I was exempt due to my job and had a card to get gas anytime. Made all my neighbors mad.

Haha Richard, now I know you're my age, I think I had just started driving a year or two or three when we had the odd even license plate number to get fuel. My main ride back in the day were 3 different Harley Davidsons.
