Nice catch! Wierd year for fishing. Mahi seem to be trickling in without the nice big run, tunas hang g around way late, and I’ve still not made it out to the break! Seems the rest of the house would rather bottom fish than troll.

When it hit we thought it was a hoo by the way it took line. Cranking on it it stayed deep so I'm thinking AJ as I start to gain line on its just staying deep not really shaking his head I'm still thinking AJ. I'm saying to my self "I'm not going to do this" I get my son to take the rod. Thinking "have a good time I'll just settle back and watch him tire you out" well after a few minutes the fish starts to tire and he starts circling. Now I am thinking big fat albert. I get the gaff and I see color HOLY CRAP a yellow fin. Mr. Tuna meet Mr. Gaff

Nice Tuna congtrats! I had a couple buddies run out of MBI yesterday and they went past the break in around 600ft. They said it was slow they caught 7 Mahi then went bottom fishing. I should of gone but couldn't swing it with work. Looks like it was flat all day looking at your pictures and what my buddies said.

Nice going with the Yellowfin!
From the pics, it looks like you have some sort of covers on the motor cowlings? Don't they cover up the air intake ports?

I bought them from outboardcovers.com/usa/ Very happy with them they fit great. I think they cost about $240.00 each. They were made in Australia took about 3 weeks to be delivered. A lot less expensive than getting the cowlings painted and great protection from the sun.
