Looking at a 2008 2360 with twin 150’s. Just wanted to see if anyone had any input on what to inspect, look for, etc The boat has 1200 hrs on it but well maintained by a local boat shop with records. Someone had mention to me that this model rides bouncy in calm water like there’s always a bounce to it. He had a single 300 so maybe that rides different. Doing sea trail Monday along with a compression test. What numbers so I expect on the compression for the yamahas ? Any input is appreciated

x2 on the survey, worth every penny. I have the 2012 2380CC so not the exact same boat but pretty close. I've never heard of the boat being described as bouncy. Mine is 5600 pounds rigged, it rides like a tank. I would think with an 08 that the engines are 4 strokes. Good compression numbers will vary by make. Once your surveyor hooks up his laptop to the engines it will give you lots and lots of information at what RPM's they were run at and at what hours. Good luck!

www.marinesurvey.orgI had a '06 2360 with twin 150s. They have a great soft ride, but can throw quite a bit of spray up the bow in the right conditions...so it can be a wet ride at times. I always ran mine with a bunch of fuel and people, so a lot of weight in the stern. It benefitted greatly from a pair of stern lifting four blade props, much flatter ride and bow control. As for your friend's bouncy ride (usually call porpoising), the motor was probably mounted too low...having the motor too low causes drag which forces the bow up and down. Again, four blade props are the ticket as you can raise the engine mounting height so there's less drag. But it all kind of depends on what conditions you'll be in.

I never heard a 2360 bouncing. I have a 2007 with F115's and 4 blades and it runs flat in calm seas, no bounce. I had the 3 blades and that didn't bounce either. Let us know how you make out.

Ended up passing on the boat. Although we loved it the compression on the engines had us a little concerned. Port engine 150, 160, 130, 130….So back to the market we go

Wise move, never want to inherit someone else's boat issues. That is why a survey is so important. Good luck with the continued search.

Its a tournament equipped 2660. I think that was the year before the 270cc came out which is just a slightly updated 2660. They just measure the LOA different so the boat falls into some tournament class.

Oddly enough there was a period later on where SF inexplicably for a brief time (like 1 yr) rebranded the 2360 to 2380 before they jumped to calling it the 240. Sailfish did similar with the previous generation 266, rebadging it the 238. Twisted has one of the very few 24' 2380s produced. He has a single 4 stroke which is also a giveaway. It is the same boat as the 2360/240cc.

in my case when the sea condition is kind of flat - when the boat is bouncing could means that the outboards are trimmed too high for the speed you are going. Trim down and monitor - if still exist - adjust speed.
