Hey guys! I thought I'd share this here before I list my boat and business for sale locally here in key West. I have a 2011 Ice Blue 2860 with 650 hours on hull and 4.2l Yamaha 250's with digital controls. I've used this boat mostly for pleasure but it's a fully licensed charter boat that I would use as side work running sandbar trips here off Key West. Unfortunately life changes require me to sell. I'm asking for 150K for the boat, snorkel gear, business cell and domain names. I might be willing to sell the boat only if the price was right.

I'd like to get close to 115K for just the boat. The market in the Key's is hot these days.

I don't want to sound negative but $115K for an 11 year old 28' boat? A friend just bought a brand new 23' Sea Hunt for $70k. I realize 5' is a big difference but maybe you've done something to make it worth the extra $$$? With financing at lower than 3% why would someone buy a 10 year old used 28' for about $485/mo when they can buy new 28' for $140k or $590/mo? 30 year fixed 3% APR... If $100/month makes or breaks a deal, I don't think a boat is a good idea for you. Again, I'm not being negative just 'sell me' as a new boat guy... Tell me why your boat is worth it.

The used boat market is stupid high. Funny thing is these boats are selling. The bigger issue is buying a 10 or 11 year old boat if you can't pay with cash and you need to finance the boat will never show that much value and you'll have a hard time financing and getting insurance for that amount of money.

Boat prices are crazy and I'd probably have to take a course in pricing to have any idea what is a good or bad price today. NADA says my 3 year old 245DC is worth about 10k more than I paid for it new. All due to high demand and low availability. A new one would be around 60% more now.
Most of us on the forum should consider ourselves lucky. We've got a boat and for now at least, they're appreciating.

You're not a buyer, he doesn't need to sell you or tell you why his boat is worth what he's asking. Are you always such a cheerful person? I was asking a question. If that offended you, maybe its time to loosen your panties.

Are you always such a cheerful person? I was asking a question. If that offended you, maybe its time to loosen your panties. You weren't asking a question, you were being snarky and critical. The man is listing his business and boat for sale. You do not have to agree or like the price. More importantly, he wasnt asking for your opinion or assistance so have some decorum. You're new around here so maybe best to start off your tenure a bit less confrontational and get to know some members and provide some meaningful contribution before taking a dump on someone's for sale post.

Boats just like houses are in short supply, thus, prices for both have increased. There are a lot of advantages to buying a used boat or house over new. As all boat and homeowners know either one brand new doesn’t include options. Especially boats. Find a 28’ for 140k and add another 30k for electronics, outriggers, etc. Manufacturing is in a downward trend—topic for another thread. So prices for used items are relative to current market supply. Captain your boat is very fairly priced. I live in South Florida and would be interested in it for your asking price if I wanted to go bigger. My 2009 2660 is big enough as I trailer it. I’ve share it with other experienced boaters and all agree it’s valued correctly. But I’m not telling you what you don’t already know. The right buyer will surface and be very happy with the purchase. I’m two years from early retirement and hope something like this is available in 2023. I’d jump on the whole package and head south.
