Hi Everyone, I’m new to the forum. I have had a 2017 Sailfish 245 DC for about two years. Just seeing if anyone also has one and what modifications they have done and what issues they have had. Thx!

I am actually looking at a 2017 245 and about to make an offer. How do you like it and what issues did you have? Thanks...

The boat is fantastic in that it can do just about anything from cruising to tubing to fishing. I haven’t had really any major issues. I use the boat quite often and have had it out quite far out as I fish as often as I can. If I were to be looking to buy again I would do it all over and buy it.

Welcome to the forum. There are quite a few 245DC owners on the forum, but I'm not sure about 2017. I've got a 2018 245DC. Only unsolved issue is slow center storage deck drain. Appears to be a pinched or crushed hose, but otherwise it's been good. Nothing abnormal.
Added VHF radio, windshield wiper, autopilot, outriggers, Fells Man Overboard, and radar. Plan to add an overboard discharge this spring thanks to DMBekus excellent description of how to accomplish.
Where do you normally use your boat?

Mostly in South Florida (Miami area). I’ve trailered her around to west coast of Florida, the keys, and up to east coast of central portion of Florida as well.
As to specific issues, I had to replace the pumps for the fishbox and baitwell. What a silly place the manufacturer puts them, made it such a pleasure to replace.
I’m currently trying to figure out best way to install some rod holders to bow portion. Not sure of best solution on that.
Auto pilot? I have thought of doing that as I do quite a bit of trolling during summer months.

Pump placement could definitely be better considering we know they will eventually fail. I guess the autopilot difficulty depends on your experience or if you're having someone else install. I did mine and it went okay until I tried to find tees that would handle the Uflex hoses and the Seastar hose back to the pump. Had to go to several different shops before I found the right connectors and tees, but no problem otherwise. I was going to add rod holders to the bow, but the only accessible place is over the anchor locker. Decided to add clamped ones to the hardtop support instead. I may add some to the anchor locker later, but the two on the supports have worked fine so far and they don't interfere with casting from the bow.

What sort of outrigger setup you have?

As you can see by the picture, the outrigger mounts are much more toward the center than most boats have. That was in order to clear the hardtop cable troughs when pivoting them out. I used Taco GS-380s mounts since there is no way to access the mounts from the side of the boat. Good news is I can put them out when fishing alone and have done it a couple of times (autopilot a real necessity for that).
Here's pics before I added the radar. Attachments:

Welcome aboard, I have a 2018 245 DC, boat in NJ out of Seaside Park, but spending my first winter in Miami/Key Largo, brought my little Whaler down to get the feel of boating in the Keys, next year I may trailer it down.
