I have a foam cannon for the pressure washer but I dont lug the pressure washer down to the dock. So after some research of various hose friendly foam guns, I picked up this one off Amazon. Wolfgang Quart Foamaster Foam Gun with Free Bonus a.co/d/dCQowJERreally good build quality, no leaks and foam level is adjustable. I tried it out yesterday on the top side and it was nice not to have to break out the bucket and soap. It makes hitting all of the bright work with soap easy too. Just hit the soaped up areas with a mit or brush and rinse. It really cut down on the time. I used Chemical Guys Pink. Careful with this stuff, the pink can stain if spilled in concentration form. Small enough that it fits in my cleaning bucket that I keep on board. I'm not sure I'll use the bucket again.

Sounds good I'll check it out. Always looking to make things easier. Damn Chris you were bleeding so bad you had to buy yourself something for the boat, hope it eases the pain. Lol Have a great weekend, just opened the pool today the tree pollen finally stopped.
Think you could mix some salt away in with it then maybe you wouldn't need the brush. If you don't use a brush and just rinse it off does it clean anything.

Sounds like a good idea, but as Glen said he'd like to remove the salt at the same time and avoid the brushing. I think I'm going to go ahead and get one anyway as my brush on, rinse off method isn't as effective as I'd like, and getting the brush on the hardtop behind the radar is challenging and maybe this could make that a lot easier.
Is the spray controllable enough I can spray my boat and not spray the boat 2-3 feet on either side of me on wash racks?

Is the spray controllable enough I can spray my boat and not spray the boat 2-3 feet on either side of me on wash racks? It's an agitated spray meant to cause foaming of the soap. It's not a high pressure spray either so it doesnt shoot far and it's not meant to remove stuff like a pressure washer. The better your hose water pressure is the better the foaming action You might get some overspray outside but the nozzle is in your hand so you control the angle etc. Its not a substitute for hand or brush washing if your looking for maximum cleaning, so in that case you'll still have to break out the mit. It makes.it more efficient though. And for those that dont hand wash after every trip spraying it down with a suddsy soap every so often better than nothing at all and I'd think better than just plane water. I spray my boat down with water 9 times out of 10 after a trip, but I will likely incorporate just spraying it down with soap and rinsing, no rubbing. Im going to try it with other soaps like my Awlcare to see how foamy it gets.

Thanks, ordered and ordered some more salt away too. Since my boat is dry stored I wash and rinse every trip out. This should make it easier. Maybe cleaner too.

Make sure to get the right foaming soap meant for foam cannons too otherwise you might not be happy with the soap/suds results. I havent tried regular soap yet.

And you only put like 3oz of the foam cannon soap into the cup so it doesn't take much soap.

Thanks for the info and link. I’ve been thinking of getting one but been too busy or lazy to research. You have done the work my friend. I’ll get on the wife’s account and order one as long as I’m not too busy or lazy.

I got the Chemical Guys version as a xmas gift and have been using it for awhile; I agree that you still need to sponge everything for a good cleaning, but it does make the process faster vs going back and forth to a bucket constantly. Now I'll just foam down the bow area...wipe/rinse...foam the console...wipe/rinse...etc. I've also just foamed and rinsed after a hard day of fishing when I'd rather drink beer than clean...its better than just water, but it doesn't remove blood or tough stains.
I kept mine on the boat with cleaning supplies and it didn't take long for the quick release on the end of the nozzle to start corroding. Spraying it with some corrosion x loosened it up (which I should have done when it was new) but still, kinda shocked how quickly it corroded since it only sees freshwater and lives in a pretty dry compartment.
If it breaks, I'll buy another version...time saver for sure.

Good idea on spraying it down. I'll hit with the Woodys wax that I have on the boat next time I'm down. My fittings are brass so hope they hold up better.

Glad you brought up the corrosion-x. Hadn't thought about it, but the sprayer is supposed to come Wednesday and I'll put some on before I use it.

I've used it now about 3-4 times. Once with Salt Away added, the rest just with Chemical Guys. It does make it easier, especially when washing alone. I have learned that rinsing now requires more water or I'll leave some soap on. IMHO the boat looks cleaner when finished and doesn't require as much manual labor.

Look at those suds! I could never get my brush to hold that amount of suds when I washed my boat. Always had to keep reloading it.

Suds look nice but that's not what cleans. if the cleaner of your choice is in the pail suds or not the brush is what does the cleaning. But has got to beat dragging the pail around.👍
