A video of Greg Sharrow that may be of interest that a buddy in an unrelated manufacturing industry sent me.
I hope the price for a Sharrow prop starts dropping...$10k for a twin configuration is a bit hard to swallow for me.

Interesting video. I've only spent a few months with my boat, so even though I am interested in the prop, I'm not sure that I would have enough experience to determine if there was a vast improvement. I keep following along at home though, because, aside from the cost, it looks like a great design.

One thing I learned in that video is the noise reduction. Quite a few advantages but still gotta watch prices drop to a more reasonable level before I can refit!

Yeah, the noise reduction is impressive. I'm not going to turn down fuel savings, but if I were to splurge on one of these, it would be based on performance. I don't see a lot of info on improved handling, etc. So, it's nice to see other benefits talked about in this video.

I wonder if they would throw in a 35 year old smoking hot lady with each prop. Sorry about that but my request is as ridiculous as the price.

At Christmas you were wishing for a hot 30 year old, now its up to 35. ROTFLMAO I agree their price is ridiculous, but I know they are putting it out there as a value proposition price rather than a "cost plus profit" kind of price. Pisses me off, but if I were running the company I'd probably be doing the same, laughing all the way to the bank.

Fellas, just hold on a few months. The chinese knock-offs will be out on Alibaba.com for $300/ea. I'm going to try them with my Yammy 200's close to the shore with my tools and standard props on the ready for when they disintegrate!

So I wanted to bump this up again since I just saw a report where they tested performance on a Robalo 302 Center Console with twin 300 Yammies using factory prop versus the new Sharrow MX-3 props. It got me thinking again and I decided to do a cost/benefits analysis to see how it fell out. I was surprised that at $5k per prop, with twin 200's on my boat, I would with some level of confidence make it to break even by the end of 6 years, paying for the Sharrow upgrade with gas savings. I tried to be realistic in many of the assumptions I used, which include 150 hours of use per year, a starting price per gallon of gas at $4.50 with 2% increase each year, and cruising speed usage 85% of the time. I'll attach the spreadsheet I made if you are really geeky like me and want to play around with it or see how I did the calculations as the spreadsheet formulas are visible. I promise I'm not working for Sharrow, but that upgrade is now pressing on my mind...if I keep the boat just 9 years with Sharrow props on it I can pay for autopilot and still be ahead! Hmmmm. I like your logic. But Imagine how much more affordable this new tech will probably be in six years.

I hope you're right on the price coming down. I know when I'm going out 100 miles to fish I'd like the fuel economy. Just don't go out that far often enough to justify it at the current pricing.
