Hope you have good weather and catching. Always have fun down there.
We've been going to the outer banks (Kill Devil Hills, Kitty Hawk, Nags Head, etc.) since before there were any fast food restaurants or chain grocery stores. Dad owned a beachfront cottage at mile post 7 and sold it after a hurricane took most of the beach, the back porch, the fireplace and the maid's quarters. Took the insurance money and moved it up toward the road before selling. Kids still remember the good times we had there and I'm sure yours will too.

Thanks!
That's why we love Ocracoke, no fast food, putt putt, go carts etc truly island living and close to the stream. The only time we get in the truck is to drive out onto the beach otherwise bikes and golf cart.

Between the NC winds and the summer doldrums, fishing can be tough. Last year didnt even get out offshore.. My goal is to catch some triggers this year. Wahoo, marlin and sailfish would be a bonus. Mynoldest wants to high speed jig again for AJs so hopefully we can do that too.

That sounds like a great plan. The wind offshore won't lie down here can't get out 7 days so far and don't look good until Wednesday.

Beautiful area, have a great time!
Although with that rig and two weeks off, you should tow a little further and head to the Abacos! It’s just gas...lots and lots of gas lol.

Looking at this wind/wave forecast that might not be such a bad idea! Lol. It's always a crap shoot in NC, the wind can be relentless.

I took my daughter and one of the granddaughters out fishing today off Virginia Beach. It was smooth this morning and fishing was ok, but this afternoon it was easily 2-3 feet with white caps everywhere, windy and fish biting like crazy. I swear fish always bite better when its rough. Granddaughter didn't mind it being rough and spray coming over the bow (it was 97 degrees), but my daughter is a fair weather sailor so we headed in as it kept building.
Hope you get a break down there, but it seems like Carolina is a lot rougher than us just a few miles up the way. When I had the big boat I'd chase fish into Carolina and it always appeared that as we crossed the state line the waves got bigger.

Kids robbed my cooler of beer while parked at the ramp parking lot last night. Happened last year too. Never used to be a problem on the island. If it's not the otters stealing bait off yer boat, it's the damn island rats stealing yer beer. It's gusting to 17 knots here this afternoon, always makes it fun launching and docking with the wind and waves. I love taking the boat out in the Pamlico behind the island on days like this, it just eats up the chop. The water is 83 degrees and emerald green. And she's docked and cleaned up after sitting under the trees for the week getting all stained up.

Did the take your yeti cooler also or just the beer. 😡 Just the beer, but they unclipped the cooler from the slide to get it out of from under the LP. I guess they dont want to get into to much trouble.
