Wow that throws some serious light! I've never run one on my boat and am wondering if you have to power it down with an oncoming boat how does that affect your sight? Does it take a good amount of time for your eyes to adjust? I think the light bar would be very good for the long run out as most of the time you wouldn't come across other boats. I expect Glen will be happy with his choice and it should add a lot of safety to his trips out.
My daughter, son-in-law and I used to cast to the rocks at night at the islands on the CBBT. Used the spreader lights to see the rocks. It was really good to be able to see the rocks when casting as we were trying to get as close as we could to the rocks. Caught a lot of stripers back then (very few now) and we could watch the fight as we brought them in. Only drawback to the lights was the total lack of vision when leaving. Most of the time we just sat there for several minutes before even trying to leave so our eyes could adjust. If I remember right it was about 3 to 5 minutes.

Yes power down for other boats. Because your behind the light it doesn't mess much with your vision.
