So i had a little time to really look at the brakes. The actuator works fine, 2 wheels locked up on me when backing up, no leaks in any of the lines that I could see. I have decided I'm just going to replace the 4 calipers, I can get exact replacements for about $150 per.

Sounds more reasonable than that first "I really don't want this job" quote. Way to check it out and fix what is really wrong rather that paying for everything in the hope that something bad in the system gets replaced in the process!

Have you checked with Eastern Marine? I did, I ended up ordering from trailerparts.com. Prices were largely the same, couple of bucks one way or another, but I need the parts shipped to NJ and these guys are in NJ, so I figured (hopefully) less chance of a screwup in shipping. they were also very helpful on the phone. I have Tie Down Engineering calipers as OEM and thought I could switch to Kodiak easily, Dexter owns them both now, but these guys told me I'd also have to change brackets and rotors. After this job is complete, I'm thinking of trying to rig up a system to spray them down just by hoking up a hose and letting it run. I think I can jury rig something using a "patio watering system" without too much difficulty, but am open to ideas. Thinking something like this www.homedepot.com/p/Rain-Bird-40-Piece-Patio-Plant-Watering-Kit-PATIOKITS/202078358but have to look into how it actually sprays. Another project......

trailers and saltwater do not mix. EOH are better, on my list, but does not stop issues with brakes in salt water. I have had success with www.etrailer.com/

There is another solution. Buy a bigger truck, then you won’t care if the brakes work!

I used trailer parts superstore last year and rebuilt brakes on both axles for roughly $750. The price could reach 2k if your looking at full stainless as I used galvanized.
