Hey All, I just got back into fishing again and picked up another 218WAC which I also had in the past. Love the boat - fished her alot this summer and killed a lot of fish. I replaced all her electronics last winter. This winter I am putting a Minn Kota on her so I can spot lock for tog/sea bass. Attachments:

Welcome back to the Sailfish family! The boat looks nice, what year is it? Good to hear you upgrading stuff and using it for some fishing!

Love this boat. Welcome aboard!
Tog? You must fish out of the mid Atlantic/NE?

Nice find, very low hours and I'm sure the wear and tear inside reflects low use too.

fishnfool Yup I fish out of Barnaget, NJ and using the spot lock feature is a game changer for black fish (tog) fishing. We fish wrecks and small pieces which could be tricky to anchor with out the minn-kkota jerryk I would say the wear and tear is minimal - the hull though was left out in the previous owner backyard - it had to get cleaned and detailed before I got her out on the water. I already put 100 hours on her this season - mostly chasing striped bass up and down the jersey coast just in the last month and a half

Nice boat. Welcome aboard. Fully agree on your anchor choice for Tog. I abandoned single handed Tog fishing after trying to get my wreck anchor to unhook from rocks in strong current and waves.

hookedup I have had to cut an anchor off onetime for the exact same reason. That was painful and scary. footy3 I hope you got on the striper run off of the Ferris wheel. It was one of the best runs I have ever seen!

Spring has been nothing but a game changer with the new minn kota - All I did was spot lock for the month of April and may for Tog and Black Seabass. It even held well in 3 foot seas blowing 15-20 and never ran out of juice. Now I am back to drifting for fluke.

Hi Captain, it says a lot that you got a 2nd 218WAC!
I bought my 2005 218WAC, factory 2005 200hp HPDI Yamaha, in Los Angeles, CA in early 2020. It actually was bought new in Cape May, NJ and still has the stickers. I may have had the first Sailfish in SoCal ocean waters.?
I fish ocean only, mostly with the same friend for 25 years on various boats. My longest trip so far has been 150 nm round trip for bluefin tuna. I have radar, EBIRP, 3 radios, 3 GPS, Para-anchor, etc. I have about 750 nm on her total since owning.
This hull cuts through 5ft, without any "pounding". I've passed 25ft Parkers, etc. going 22+ knots heading to the offshore grounds. I'm serious and it took getting used to for many trips. I would come off a swell and brace for the SMACK - which never happened! Also, the enclosed transom is a significant safety bonus IMO.
I'll hopefully upgrade soon, but will be passing this awesome 22' Beast to my teenage son!

Hope you're getting on keeper sized summer flounder. In northern ocean county, spotty inside earlier this season, but did get some slots and overs. Tried outside 3 times over the past week, Seagirt and Axel reefs shorts and skates. Only one nice seabass made it in the box.
