Quoting schlnrnd "Ever use Fresca as a mixer with the rum?" I haven't tried that but it does sound good. Next time I see Fresca I'll get some. I'll have to mix with my Sailor Jerry spiced rum which is all I have now and the reason I wished for the case of Soggy Dollar spiced rum...if you've never tried it you are missing a treat.

Years back a very wealthy man here had an 80' or so boat docked at the country club near my dad's house. I'd be out in my boat (I think it was a 21' back then) and I'd wave whenever the 80' would go by. A pretty girl dressed in a sailor suit would step out and wave to me, or whoever waved to the boat and then step back in. That was her job. Some things you never forget.
So for Christmas, I want the boat, a girl in a sailor suit and my son-in-law for the voice control fish finder. He's the best I've ever known and hardest working mate you could find. He'd put us on the fish and we'd have 9 lines out when I had the Albemarle and if we weren't catching he'd check all the baits every 15 minutes or so and still have the energy to bring in the big ones.
Oh, guess I should add, I'd like a tanker full of fuel to keep the boat topped off between trips out. Mine as well go all out on your Christmas wishes.

Ok as long as we're going big here Richard, I would say that I would NOT want an 80 foot yacht. I get too much pleasure out of running my own boat without staff involved even if she is a cutie. No, for me make it a blue water capable sailing catamaran 45-55' with lots of solar power and unlimited range to roam the waters of the world while still having a shallow enough draft that I can pull into some gorgeous bays for Anchorage off a Caribbean island. A couple of poles troll out back for the occasional mahi or tuna and nowhere to be but where I am at the time. Ah, bliss!

Every time I go out:
Gas @ $2.50 gallon
I know exactly where the fish are
The time they are feeding
What they are feeding on
Good knots
No tangles
Beautiful weather, unless I’m striper fishing then it should be raining, windy and cold
Nothing that just broke on the boat
No one on my boat catches more fish than me
My fish are the biggest
A trip back in past a beautiful beach with beautiful people (the 30 yr old falls under “be careful what you wish for”)
A scotch, beer or wine and people who are interested in my fish stories

I gave up a long time ago for trying to find justification for what I want. I WANT IT...Veruca and I have something in common. This year the admiral is buying me a firewall for our home network. Russia and other areas have been attacking us so often, from so many different places our router is at maximum capability of blocking IP's by address. Could I do without it ... SURE. Do I want to do without it? NO! Same story with things I've wanted for the boat. Rarely do I have justification beyond "I want it". The thing is, I don't WANT a whole lot, so your point is well taken. I'll start another thread to see what it is capable of.

For today's gift, I'll take a bottle of Whistle Pig Boss Hog. Oh, boat related? Throw it in one of those Aftco Stuff Sacks.

Yes Sailor Jerry goes great with Fresca. That kicke my ass the first day I tried it. That’s a proof that can sneak up on you if you’re not careful. But damn good.

Today my wish is simple. I have plans to take my niece, her husband, and two of the three older kids (7 and 4 years old) out on the boat tomorrow. I wish for warm enough weather (beating the arrival of that massive cold front that is killing the whole country) and a good time for all. These folks are visiting FL and plan to move down here early next summer, and for the kids it will be their first boat ride.
