I’m in the process of replacing my switch panel. Just thought I would share. Pic is before shot. All the corners are broken and it’s just wedged in place. Been this way for a couple years. I’m enlarging the panel and making it out of star board. Should have it finished this coming weekend. Waiting on new VSR’s and breakers.

You should be able to upload pictures unless they exceed the 10 meg limit. There is plenty of room left, although I will have to shrink some of the old ones in a while.

Well in all fairness to Glen, the storage issue coincided with terminating my credit card that may have fallen into the hands of a fraudster. It's the same card thats set up for auto pay for the storage on this site. I can't remember all the sites and businesses where my card number is stored, so it's usually not until I get that friendly email saying my card was declined and I owe money. New card arrived today so we're back in business.

Just curious, how is everyone’s bilge pumps wired? I have the 3 breakers on this panel that go to the automatic part of the pumps and a many switch on the switch panel for manual use. My auto only works when the battery switches are on. Never been a problem because I store the boat on a trailer under a covered barn. I’m wanting to make the auto hot all the time now because I may be moving to a lift.

That's not right, they should be wired direct to the battery and activate even when the battery switches are off. To run mine in manual mode the battery switches have to be on, but auto they kick on with the switches off as they should. I'll get a shit ton of water collecting in my hull mid ship from hard rains and what not and the pumps keep it from overflowing, the pump will still kick on when I step on the bow to remove any remaining water that runs forward. They've even kicked on while I was trailering and dowsed a car next me as I hit the brakes at a stop light. My buddies SF290cc his console flooded out after a few storms when his mid ship bilge pump broke. Water backed up through the console drain and he had about 12" of standing water inside the console which meant water had filled his hull below the console. This is why you want them to kick on automatically.

My bilge pumps are wired directly to the battery otherwise that could be a major problem in a big storm as my boat sits on a mooring! Mine too kick on when trailering with battery switches in off position. I would re-wire that if I were you.

I know it’s not right. That’s why I’m changing it. Was wired this way from factory. Never been a problem as I pull the plug every time I load it. My mid bilge or forward will collect some rain water if the wind blow hard sometimes. When I turn on the battery switch it will run for a few seconds to drain.
