10' beam is illegal to trailer in a lot of places, including the Keys. But I agree, seems too cheap to me also.

Anyone else get a PM through THT from him? I did but it seamed strange as it came in as a VISITORS message. I believe I would want to see the title before I got the check book out, but I would not be worried about scoping the motors for corrosion as they would come off for some low hour F-300. That would be sweet. Rag’s

Takes me back to the member who got burned with a hard to believe deal 4 or 5 years ago. I would have to go there, have title and records in hand along with a bank check to complete the deal and RUN. I wouldn't even make a deposit to secure the deal without being there. Just my way of doing business.

If he needs the space he can send it here to me I will baby sit/brooker it for him. I will even take it to the sand bar with a big for sale sign on it!! I would guess it would be easer to sell in FL then in New Orleans. I will be there in 2 weeks maybe I should call him to go see it. Rag’s

Here's the thing with our boats. D.O.T will measure your boat at the transom. The 9 or 10 ft beam is in front of the console at the highest point. I think you have to be having a bad day to get nailed on that.

In the Keys they are pricks and they measure by dropping a string from the widest point and marking the ground on both sides. Then they measure the two points.
I'm just not 100% clear on whether it's legal up to 10' or illegal at 10'. Anyone that is over 10' for sure should get a permit and plan on driving during permitted hours. Special permit zone starts at Key Largo I believe. If you do get busted without one, you'll need a licensed boat hauler to move your boat either to it's destination or out of the Keys.
On the other hand, probably 99% of the boats don't get checked unless they are obviously bigger than 10'.
