Hello from the North Shore Massachusetts. I just purchased a 2005 218 last weekend. After a lot of searching and research I am very happy with the boat. Hopefully I will get a chance to run it one more time before it is wrapped. The day of the sea trial was perfect, windy and about 2ft chop in the bay, I was really impressed with the ride. I boat mostly on the Merrimack River with coastal runs to areas like Gloucester,Essex and Portsmouth. I am more of a boater than a fisherman but enjoy striper fishing and trolling for blues when they come around. Going to be a long winter staring at the boat in the driveway. -Brian

Congratulations. I'm also a proud owner of a 2005 model 218 and can't think of anything that I don't like about it.

Welcome and congrats on your purchase.
Starring at the boat all winter and not being able to use it sounds like it sucks. Hope you get some more use before the temps start to drop.

Great to have you Brian what motor did you get? Rag’s The boat has a F150 wich until I did the sea trial had me worried. The power seems to be Adequate for the boat. The area in which I boat rarely allows for operation above 30mph so I am ok with it. The day of the sea trial the conditions where pretty choppy and the boat was loaded down pretty good ( fuel tank full, console full of gear, 3 guys total 2guys over 200lbs and me 6’2 285lbs) I understand you can always use more power but to me the 150 seemed to be ok. I am taking it out today for a short blast down river, it is 40 degrees so we will see how long the ride lasts..

The early F150's were actually closer to 200. I think they were actually around 180hp from what I've read. If you look up the torque curve graph for those two motors they are close to identical. The 200 V6 is a different matter. More torque than the I4 200.

I get in early, the end of March. Water to cold to fish, but I get it out of my driveway.
