I know a lot of people across US dislike south Florida for the overcrowding and the multicultural mix. But tell me where else can a dad watch his 14 year old kid catch a 44"/35+ lb (we maxed the scale, which did not go beyond 35 lbs) bull dolphin in November? Attachment DeletedAttachment Deleted

Awesome fish. Congrats, and I love South Florida in November......and December......and January........and February. Even with all the snowbirds. They bring lots of green with them.

That’s a great dolphin. Congrats. It’s going to be tough for your son to beat that.
Let’s hear some details??? On the troll or live bait?

Attachment DeletedWe were trolling two lures behind the engines and two ballyhoos on the outriggers. We had a hit on one of the lures, and we brought the mahi school closer to the boat. Picket off 2 schoolies. We started moving again and we reset the lines. Instantly, we had a hit on one of the ballyhoo, and we got 4 more schoolies. As we were about to start moving to re-set the trolling lines, that bull showed up with three cows. The cows were about the same size as the bull. My buddie and I started trowing live pilchards into the water and the kids used the spinning rods with pilchards. As soon as he hooked the bull, the cows scattered.

Good job spotting the bull. It’s awesome to pitch out a live bait and watch a big bull crash it.
