Fin, I might be able to make the installation a little easier for you if needed. The hardest thing with a Garmin radar is running the network cable. The reason I asked if it had the network cable factory installed on both ends is because the marinized network cable is 1 3/16 of an inch in diameter. That's too big to get down one of the T-top supports, so what installers do is cut off one end. When I install them I always leave the one that connects to the radar intact, which means you're feeding the cables from the top down into the console.
You've been like a father to me, so here's what I can help you with. I have one "field installable RJ-45" left and I have the tools to install it with. If you buy this radar I'll give you the field installable marinized connector plus a much easier to install RJ-45 than Garmin includes in their kit AND I'll loan you my RJ-45 crimping tool to get the job done. I figure I've got a 50/50 chance of getting my tools back, so what the hell. By cutting off the connector you'll find pulling the cables for the radar through the T-top a heck of a lot easier.

Thank you Ron,that's very thoughtful of you. If I do borrow something from you rest to sure it will be returned if not I would just buy another one cuz that's me. So if there's any way possible that the cable is going to fit down the Leg of that Tower I will get it through. So my plan is to have everything here and see if I can do it and if I can't then I'm going to reach out to you. Don't worry I'm sure it'll be tons of questions along the way. Lol....

So Chris when you first set up your radar cable were you able to get it through or did you have to cut the cable ?

Glen, the connector that is factory installed is almost an inch and a quarter in diameter. That's larger than the Sailfish access hole in your T-top either at the top or inside the console. You'll have to cut the connector, but trust me, I can get you through it. You'll have so much fun with the crimping tool I'll loan that you'll become a neighborhood nuisance trying to put RJ-45's on every cable you see. The link below is the actual RJ-45 that I'll send you. You'll get it right on the very first try unless you have blue/green colorblindness. ezrj45.com/

Glen, here's a YouTube link showing you how the EZ RJ-45 is installed. You won' be using the strain relief he shows; you'll be using the one that comes with the Garmin field installed Network connector that I'll be sending you in conjunction with the EZ RJ-45.
If this is still a little unnerving for you the curb feelers is still a viable option...

Well I just read another article on how to do it and it actually showed some good pictures and the order in which the 8 wires have to go it really DOESN'T LOOK THAT BAD.... famous last words I have to remember I said that.

Well since you broached the subject of the order of the wires I'll have to jump ahead of you here. When you're getting ready to cut off the connector on one end or the other you will want to hold onto that connector. It makes no difference which end you cut off. Don't throw it away until everything has been completed, installed, and verified that all is in working order. You will match the order of colors of that connector and nothing else. Garmin uses a crossover connector, which means the order of the colors on the two ends are different. Garmin did this just to annoy you personally, but no worries, you'll get the last laugh.
