Attachment DeletedAttachment DeletedAttachment DeletedAttachment DeletedBefore I run the risk of loosing my Man Card, let me explain why. I love the feel of the floor on my bare feet and fish coming over the gunnel. But at 58 and playing basketball and racquetball for many of those years I've now been diagnosed with Morton's neuroma (walking on Marbles) on both feet. If I still wanted to go barefooted in the Sailfish, this was my concession. When I go fishing the carpet will come out and the sneakers will go on...We do a lot of boating on the lakes and rivers with the Sailfish and I'm looking forward to the carpet. The Template was a PITA! 6 mil plastic is the way to go. Attachment Deleted

Man that looks good. Will it stay in place while running? I would be concerned about it flying out at speed if not held down somehow.

Boy oh boy that must feel good on the feet and it looks great.
I could never get away with carpet, it would get trashed with fish slime, blood etc and I would not have the energy to keep up with removing/reinstalling it on top of everything else.

I plan on using just 2 snaps on the flap in the bow(I hate drilling holes in the Sailfish) the cooler will be sitting on it also. The back section will have a couple 3M velcro strips attaching it to the bow piece. Plus the bench legs on it in the stern. The section in-front of the leaning post will have additional cushion slid under it for when I'm standing and driving. Pick the pads up at Home Depot.

Very nice, if mine don't sell I'm going with Seadek to cover my deck.

My previous boat had the same type of carpet and the taking in and out really isn't that bad. I know before I leave the house if I'm fishing our not. Serious fishing, no carpet. With only 2 snaps it takes 2 or 3 minutes to remove it Or install it. I sure will miss the padding underfoot when driving out to the fishing grounds.

A couple reasons that I didn't go with seadeck. 1. I'm still old school and like being able to see a nice white / clean floor after a day filling the cooler with fish. The therapy of cleaning the floor at the end of the day with Zac Brown playing on the Fusion and a Tall glass helping me along.
2. I'll probably keep this boat for another 8 years, and I know this carpet will last for the limited sun it will see. I'm not sure what the life expectancy of the seadeck is?

How does your boat perform with the 225's, and do they lift completely out of the water when raised. If you would be so kind maybe you could give me some real numbers of speed and fuel burn between 3000 to 4000 rpms.

finatic, I can help you with most of your questions. The 1 time I lifted both motors to see if they would come all the way out of the water, They Did. Having them in Freshwater a 100% of the time and the Sailfish only sits for 6 or 7 long weekends a year at the dock.
Power is not a problem with the twin 225's! I've got 1 week that we boat up on Lake Superior with 8 larger adults and a full cooler. Put the trim tabs down, give her gas, and they can sit anywhere they want. Pull the trim tabs back, trim up the 225's a little and she loves to cruise at 4000 rpms (38 to 40mph). I've only pushed her up to 53mph once, I think that I could have gotten a little more out of her.
I'm sorry I don't have fuel numbers. All I can tell you is that I'm comparing a 27' with twin 200 Johnson 2 strokes.....Night and Day. I throw 90 gallons in on Wednesday afternoon, fish until Sunday, making 24 mile runs 4 times a day, and not have to put any additional gas in....My fishing partners are liking that.
I hope this helped.

Yes it sure does. I want a 2660 or 270 but don't want the 150's. The 150's are a perfect match on my 2360. I want that same speed from a bigger boat that's my reasoning for the 225's or better yet 250's. With the bigger motors there's really no reason to run above 4000 rpm's. They also almost never labor which means better fuel burn. I'm looking every day, there's one with 250's not up to my standards the way it's been maintained, their also looking for a stupid price.

There was a guy just up the river from me that had a 2660 with 250’s and that puppy would fly. He was over 60 mph.

Finatic I'm looking for the same models and agree that twin 200s or better is the way to go. Fishing the Atlantic and making trips to the Bahamas I like the fact that I can "get home" in a hurry, if needed. I don't usually take chances with the weather but one never knows with the Florida weather in the spring and summer.
