Ok the story is, I was over visiting a friend who lives on the water in Isles of Capri, right across the big river there from Marco Island. Near the Snook Inn if any of you know the area. I believe it's called Big Marco Pass.
Well, I was watching the dolphin schools, seeing some rays, jump and an occasional tarpon roll. Suddenly I saw a large school of bait getting hammered out towards the middle and out of the water comes a mackerel. Looked like a large Spanish or maybe a Cero Mackerel. What I saw next surprised me. Completely out of the water comes what looked like a bonita or a tuna of some sort. Estimate it to be between 10 and 15 pounds.
Anybody that fishes the area have an educated guess what it was. Seemed very strange to have a tuna that far inshore. But it was definitely shaped like a large football.
