I did every inch of the inside of the boat with one 8" wool pad. The trick is to clean off the pad before every time you add the product. I used a stiff brush.

Shurhold makes a great wool pad, better than 3Ms IMO which is also a good pad. Make sure to have a good medium/soft backing plates. You can pick one up on Detailers Domain. Most of the back plates that come stock are not great and too stiff.
Having 2 pad isnt a bad thing. Like Glen said, clean the pad routinely with a screwdriver or ideally a spur.

Ok awesome thanks. I might just buy 2 pads just to have. I did buy that Harbor Freight polisher, but ditch the backing plate?

It didn’t perform as well as compound.
For me.
I gave it a go for a good while, tweaking with diff techniques and such. I just wasn’t able to get the depth out of it that I could with compound or as quickly
Others have had great success with smoove. I’m sure it’s just cause I’ve compounded for 32 years, I’m more adept with it. That’s all

It was tedious that’s for sure. At this age, I’ve lost patience for many things.

I only used one pad for cutting and another for polishing. It's important to use really good wool pads and use a cleaning spur regularly on the pad. I used a Dewalt variable speed polisher with Dewalt pads. Smoove recommends 1500-1800rpm for the polisher. Good luck!
