We splashed the boat this past Weds AM only to be hit with strong NE winds late morning... looks like next week is not going to get any better. Can't even hit the streams for trout as the water is way too high and runnung fast. Hope its not going to be one of those years.

Sunday South winds 5 to 10 knots then becoming southwest around 15 knots in the late morning and afternoon. Bay and inland waters a moderate chop.
Not horrible for hanging on the island.

Got out this morning to check the new radar out (love it) and to drop lines in for Spanish or blues. It was fairly calm until around 1 and then picked up quickly. Small craft warning at 2pm and the ocean was angry so we headed back in. My granddaughter got to catch a reasonable size blue, so turned out to be a pretty good day all around. Where we were fishing the waves are now 4.6 feet and very steep.
Calling for thunderstorms tomorrow afternoon through Mother's Day. Glad we got out today as the weekend isn't very promising (again). Looking forward to some offshore fishing, but need better forecasts than small craft warnings and thunderstorms.

I didn’t make it fishing today but we did spend it on Marco Island. It was a pretty horrible day of drinking beer!
