I take no credit for the fish being caught.
Hopefully kmac doesn't mind that I pirated his video to share here.

Dam, is there no limit on that fish. That's a nice day on the water.

I can’t wait to get into some action like that.
What boat are they running?

I can’t wait to get into some action like that. What boat are they running? I think it's a 3006.

My son-in-law was fishing off the outer banks this weekend. His complaint: All we caught were mahi. Saw the tuna down about 75 to 100 feet, but nothing was bringing them up or getting them to bite. Other boats around him had the same problems with tuna, except for one boat that said they hooked tuna, but never got it in due to sharks.
Guess it's all a matter of how you look at it. He's got a freezer full of mahi and really was looking for some fresh tuna. Me, I be enjoying reeling in the mahi and if my freezer was already full, I'd return them to the sea and go catch some more.

Quick question, why is the captain still steaming forward (pretty aggressively) while the guy is fighting the fish?? Is it to get further hook ups? Seems counter intuitive to how we fight tuna up this way. Just wondering.

Yes. And unless I'm fighting a big fish that I know is good tight I wouldnt slow down for some slingers

Continuing forward with mahi makes good sense. They will tangle up all your lines going side to side if you slow down much. Pretty to watch, but unless you've cleared all your lines it can be nasty to untangle.

X2^^^ Keep them coming in straight unless it’s a really big fish and all lines are clear.
